BYBI Beauty Bakuchiol Serum : Anti-Aging Skincare Review

Hey lovelies,

Hope everyone is well. I recently purchased the Bakuchiol Booster Serum from BYBI Beauty to enhance my anti-aging skincare routine and wanted to share my review.

BYBI Beauty is a relative newbie on the skincare block, having launched in 2017 to provide high quality hardworking products without compromising on the brands ethical values. Using 100% natural ingredients, their formulations are vegan, cruelty free and use only environmentally conscious packaging yet deliver serious skincare at an affordable price. What's not to love?!

So I actually purchased 3 items: Bakuchiol Booster, CBD Booster and the Acid Gold AHA Face Mask. Today I want to concentrate on the Bakuchiol Booster and I will review my other products in a later post.

I've recently been looking to supercharge my current anti-aging skincare routine, but without breaking the bank. Seriously, I see so many wonderful anti-aging serums, creams, oils, lotions and potions, which I would love to use but they're so far out of my budget I cannot justify the price, often on products that don't deliver their hype. So I'm now on a mission to find great products to tackle age related skincare issues, at an affordable price.

My skin is over 40, combination with dry areas on the cheeks and around the eyes with an oilier T zone. I have suffered from melasma since my early 20's so am super careful to use a high factor SPF every day, I think that's helped me to be relatively wrinkle free and I'd like to keep it that way! Lets see if the Bakuchiol Booster can help.

Now we all know that Retin-A and it's sister Retinol are the gold standard for anti-aging skincare, clinically proven to decrease wrinkles, boost collagen production and combat pigmentation, but along with those benefits come the side effects of dryness, peeling, flaking and photosensitivity, particularly for new users. It can take weeks to build tolerance while you go through the 'Retinol Uglies'

Enter Bakuchiol (pronounced ba-koo-chee-all), a natural plant based alternative shown in clinical studies* to act in a similar way to retinol, without the associated problems. Bakuchiol has been shown to activate chemical pathways in the skin which boost collagen production, leading to firmer, plumper and bouncier skin with a decrease in fine lines, and a reduction in pigmentation without any of the photosensitivity of retinol.

BYBI Boosters are added to your existing creams and serums to supplement and enhance their effectiveness, making it easy to add the benefit of high end products to your existing skincare routine. BYBI Bakuchiol Booster contains 1% Bakuchiol, one of the highest concentrations on the market, in a squalene base derived from olives giving it super hydrating powers.

Packaged in an insta-worthy purple glass bottle, this product oozes cool girl vibes while packing some serious skincare punches.

I find adding 2 or 3 drops of the Bajukiol Booster to my hyaluronic acid serum after cleansing has given me amazing results, my skin feels and looks plumper and fresher the next morning with less fine lines and pigmented patches.  The booster feels silky smooth on the skin and absorbs easily, with absolutely none of the dryness associated with retinol.

I'm not ready to ditch my retinol just yet, but as I'm only using retinol twice a week (my skin just can't tolerate more frequent use) I'm happy to add Bajukiol into my regime on the other 5 days of the week. Again like retinol I'm using this only in my night-time routine. And it goes without saying I'm still using a high factor SPF during the day because in the plethora of anti-aging products, that is THE number one thing you can do for your skin.

So if you're looking to enhance your anti-aging skincare routine at an affordable price with products that actually work, then give the BYBI Bakuchiol Booster a try. And if you have any products that you love, please share in the comments below, I love word of mouth recommendations and reviews!
