Apricot Clothing Haul : Three Key Pieces for Spring Summer : Over 40 Style
I have recently updated my spring summer wardrobe with 3 news pieces from Apricot Clothing.
I haven't been adding huge hauls to my wardrobe, but instead I'm focusing on versatile pieces that can be styled numerous ways.
Styling 3 key pieces in different ways for Spring Summer
A midi dress, that classic spring summer staple! The ultimate 'grab and run' outfit that takes minimal effort but always looks put together and stylish. I've chosen this gorgeous buffet style midi dress with gathered tiers, fabulously floaty for hot summer days but also looks great teamed with a denim jacket or biker jacket for cooler days. And although this dress was in the Spring Summer collection, I would take it into autumn by layering a long sleeved fine knit thermal underneath, with tights and chunky or knee high boots.
And how fabulous is this amazing print? I do love a leopard print, but I steer away from the very orange toned prints which don't suit my colouring, instead this version is a neutral lovers dream with a base of khaki grey and accents of beige and black. So easy to team with other neutral tones.
The dress is true to size with a lovely loose flowy fit, and I opted for a UK 10. I'm 5'5" and the length hits mid shin so perfect for teaming with sandals, trainers and boots! A true all rounder.
Now you guys know how much I love black, well navy is black's softer sister and I adore her! It's a colour that suits most skin tones and looks fabulously chic teamed with white, but also looks great teamed with camel and tan for a neutral look and even a pop of hot pink for colour lovers!
Culottes are a great style for summer, loose, flowy and so comfortable to wear. This pair have an elasticated waistband for comfort but also a self tie belt so you can cinch yourself in at the waist. The linen blend gives all the wonderful properties of linen, cool and a great texture, but not too creasy either.
My daytime go to for culottes would be sandals or trainers, but they also look amazingly chic dressed up with a heeled court shoe. I've teamed mine simply here with tan sliders and a cute white Tee but have also shown an alternative way of wearing on my YouTube video.
What can you say about a classic white T? A true wardrobe staple that literally goes with everything and always looks crisp and fresh. This 100% cotton version is a lovely heavyweight non see through fabric and slightly cropped, great for tucking in without excess fabric at the waist.
This fab tee achieves the on trend 'power shoulder' look without shoulder pads, just very clever fabric folding which gives a strong shoulder line, and looks fabulous tucked in to create an hourglass shape!
I love the classic pairing of navy and white but I;ve also styled the tee very simply in the video with my ultimate go to look, jeans a white tee.
