Autumn Trench Coat : Over 40 style
Hey lovelies,
I have a styling post for you today of an item you might not associate with colder seasons, but which works wonderfully in the right fabric and colour. An autumn trench coat!

I don't know if you're the same, but trench coats for
me are a spring summer essential, worn repeatedly during the warmer months.
Then they get packed away during the six monthly wardrobe swap over and I
never consider wearing them in the colder months.
Until I spotted this gorgeous warm brown suedette number in H&M recently!
It's a lovely heavy faux suede fabric that drapes
beautifully, and the colour is so gorgeously warm it immediately makes my
winter complexion glow...winner! It features a stand up collar, storm flaps,
tie belt and epaulettes. I picked up a UK10 and it's roomy enough for a chunky
knit, worn here with faux leather leggings it makes a cosy autumnal outfit, perfect
for a weekend shopping trip in town.
An autumn winter trench is surprisingly versatile, I've worn
this one with a sleek all black poloneck outfit, and also featured it in a
recent haul video in a boho inspired style with wide leg jeans and a cream Victoriana
blouse (and I managed to say ‘storm flaps’ with a straight face!)
Lesson learnt not to pigeon hole an outfit to a
specific season, if a different fabric and colour can make it a year round
piece. Please share if you've managed to do the same and let's
re-think our seasonal wardrobes!
